XII Symposium for Doctoral Students of the URV’s Doctoral Program in Humanistic Studies, 7 and 8 May 2026
Introduction
The Doctoral Program in Humanities of URV is organizing the XI Symposium for Doctoral Students, which will take place on the 7th and 8th of May 2026 at the Campus Catalunya of URV.
This symposium is open to doctoral students from other Spanish universities to foster synergies between different doctoral programs and research lines in the Humanities.
The symposium aims to give doctoral students the opportunity to briefly present the process and preliminary results of their research in the Humanities to other participants. This allows them to learn about the research of their peers and share questions or concerns related to the writing of their doctoral theses.
The symposium is open to the general public, but it is of particular interest to Master's and final-year undergraduate students.
Interested non-doctoral students should register directly via the program's email address, (phd.eh(ELIMINAR)@urv.cat) All participants will receive a certificate.
The Academic Committee of the URV Doctoral Program in Humanities encourages all its doctoral students to present their research. Please note that participants will receive a certificate that can be included as an activity in the doctoralstudent's activities document.
Presentations
There are two ways to participate in the Doctoral Symposium:
A) Participation without evaluation
B) Participation with assessment
Mode A, which is optional, allows students to participate in the conference under the same conditions as in previous editions:
· Any doctoral student from our program or from other universities can present part of their thesis. The presentation will last up to 15 minutes, followed by a 5-minute discussion.
· It is strongly recommended that:
o This activity be carried out during the writing of the thesis.
o The thesis supervisor attends the session.
Mode B is for doctoral students in the Humanities program enrolled from 2022-2023 academic year, in their second or third year (full-time), or in their third, fourth or fifth year (part-time). Students must specifically request to be assessed for this compulsory training activity.
· The presentation will last up to 20 minutes, followed by a 10-minute discussion.
· The thesis supervisor must complete the specific report form on the doctoral student's presentation.
· The doctoral student must attend at least 80% of the sessions of the doctoral conference for which they are being assessed.
